sequence pattern

hello,
Pro/ENGINEER allows to make a sequence pattern.
I'm interested to make a rotation pattern thru Z axis.
Pro/ENGINEER suggest an incremental value of angle.
For example if I give it 90

I used to create a separate cl files to create rotational NC programms. Then I combine them to make a single file. This way Ialways make sure the cutting direction and retract heights are all perfect before pressing the button( Cuz I never ever crashed the machine and gave any pain to my companies like 80K- 100K damge

. Some did through their innovative approch

.so I followmy method even thogh need some editing work it works all the time)

Itried to rotate a NC aequence butnever get any positive results. So your are speking Patterning the NC sequence. Well sound interesting.

streamm,

Create your NC sequence that you would like to pattern. After you have createdyour sequence right click on that sequence in the model tree and pick pattern. You will be prompted to either Translate, or Rotate your sequence for your pattern. Click Rotate, next you'll be prompted for the degree amount to rotate, enter your 50 degrees. Next you'll be prompted for the axis of rotation, pick your Z axis. You can enter how many times you'd like to rotate your sequence or you can create another pattern for your 130, and 220degree rotations. Hope this will kind of help out.

14 years Pro engineer CNC tool path creation experience worked with so many 100 projects had experienced with so many challanges.

If it is 3D NC sequence then it is ok. Post processor will output Ok. But I am speaking about cutting a helix or turbine blades type of complex tool path. 4 axis or 5 axis tool path. Absolutly you will have an expected trouble.Trust me. it will cause troublewhen youpost out even though NC check OK. Pro engineer will show you screen tool path.No problem, but problem is from your posting.

Once you have pattern your NC sequence, youwould end up with a group feature and you can't modify that group. Todo the NC check, You have to create a CL file with these Patterns. If you see tool moving abnormaly......then only option is to deleate your pattern group and redo the job again. Wasting time. Even thoughyou don't sure that you will succeed in your second attempt. So try one NC sequence...make sure it cis the one you want. Create the CL file. While creating a file output as a rotate CL file. combine all the cl files and load it as a one file run it with out any supervision go home and come back morning. Job done!!. Guranteed.
