Sell Pro/E

Hi guys, I tried doing a search but came up with nothing. Is it legal to sell a license of Pro/E to a different company? I bought a seat of Pro/E awhile back for a business venture that didn't pan out. Now the company I work for needs to get a seat for a project we are going to be working on. I would love to sell mine to them, but can you transfer the license? I am no longer on maintenance. Thanks for your help!!

There are no CAD companies that I'm aware off that SELL you their program, they GRANT you (personal) the use of it.

If your lucky you (or the other party) can get a bargain when they (PTC) want to transfer the license. I've got mine of Solid Edge for something like 50 % of the yearly maintenance fee, after I already paid for computer + CAD. Well, in the end it was cheaper than starting from zero, but still ...

Man these CAD companies are greedy. I am glad that isn't how car companies work. I guess I will just have to get creative, maybe using the software as a consultant. I would read my license agreement but its at home and I am at work, just wanted a quick answer. Thanks for your responses!

You can transfer a CAD license as part of the sale of the company that owns the license. If you bought your license as part of a business venture, just wrap the PTC license into the venture, then sell the venture to your now employer.

If you want to sell your license of Pro/E you simply have to be a little creative. You sell the company or a spin off of your company. Just so happens you are selling your tool box, broom, your wife, and a seat of proe on a dusty laptop.
