Selective ARX launch

We havefive licenses of Wildfire at my company. We are running Intralink 3.3 for data management. We recently purchased one Advanced Render Extension license as we needed to get more professional renders and my company wanted to staywithin the ProE environment (long story, don't ask). Anyway here's the issue: currently only two of us use the ARX. The way we have ProE setup/configured on our two machines is both machines upon start of WF try to grab the ARX license. So it's first come first serve, which is a hassle. We would like to be able to selectively launch WF with or without grabbing the ARX. This would save us from having to shut down ProE in order to release the ARX license which we may not have needed in the first place. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks, looks like a possible solution. Will give it a try.

Thanks again!

This may be a bit off the topic, but how are you finding ARX?

I've beenusing Wildfire 2 and differentrendering software trial versionsfor my product design rendering. (Seeing that I'm the decision maker at our company in this field and will need to purchase something in the near future.) This is what I've found thus far:

Pro/E Photorender: Works OK for basic materials, BUT: I always need to improve colour, contrast and sharpening in Photoshop afterwards. Even after modifying my lights and turning off default light, my image looks faded and fuzzy. Also, decal mapping is a pain and doesn

It seems like you may need to use License Simplification?

From a command window run ptcsetup (from wherever it's installed and add the text '-simplify proe'. You should be able to select the ARX extension as a floating option? Hope this helps!

d:\ptc\proe2001\bin\ptcsetup.bat -simplify proe
