rounding a dimension value

backoffice

New member
hi all,
how can I use ceil and floor function or another way witch can round the dimension value.
for example 15,3 will be 15.5
and 15.2 will be 15
how can I do this?
Thanks

Just so you're aware, Pro/E doesn't allow you to enter a driving dimension as 15.2 and then round it to 15 without it actually changing the value itself to 15 and therefore the geometry alongwith it.

You could do what you're attempting without affecting the geometry by using a Ref Dim in the feature sketch of the model and/or drawing and rounding it but it will end up with something like this (15), you can then just edit the Ref Dim and take out the parenthesis. This is not a recommended technique for obvious reasons, your value shown isn't the actual value, and you still have the original driving dims.

You can change a dimensions decimal placesby: Selecting the Dim> RMB> Number of Decimal Places> Enter Value. Then you may have to regen the model depnding on what kind of dimension it is.

You could possibly do this with Annotations as well, that way you don't have to go into editing the model geometry. On the second thought, this is a more robust way to do it, cut down on the confusion.

Hope that helps.
