Quicker Selection Filter

The selection filter in NX4 is a little tedious to get through. If you have a spaceball or Megellan, you can speed this up drastically. On the keyboard, using <CTRL> <SHIFT> 4 gets you to the selection filter. So, knowing this you can easily make a macro & assign it to a button. Say for instance you want to pick only faces/surfaces. You would assign <CTRL> <SHIFT> 4 & then 50 up arrows then <F> & then <CTRL> <SHIFT> 4 to close. Yes, 50 up arrows. This ensures that no matter where you are in your selection filter, you will always be at the top to then be able to pick the first <F>. Sounds like a lot but it runs VERY fast. In other words, it would look like <CTRL>+<SHIFT>+4 <UP> <UP> <UP> <UP> (......50 times) F <CTRL>+<SHIFT>+4. Get it? For solids you would replace the F with SS. To reset the selection filter your macro would look like <CTRL>+<SHIFT>4 <TAB> <SPACE> <CTRL>+<SHIFT>+4. Experiment a little & you'll quickly be able to make your own macro button assignments.
