Pro/NC -> Part file (*prt, AP203, IGES)

Hi,

could someone please, let me know if Pro/NC can produce a part file to
represent the shape after the roughing operations?

I have defined the necessary NC sequences to machine a component, and then I
have generated the CL file and G-code of a specific postprocessor. but I would
also like to save the manufacturing model as a geometric part to visually tell the
differences, I would appreciate if someone could tell me if that is possible?
and if yes how could that be done?

thanks

Hi,

When you have defined a ncsequence and executed you can go back to the Machining menu :

Mfg Model

Mfg Setup

Process Mgr

Machining (this is the one you need to select)
Then you have to select Matrl Remove

Operation

NC Sequence

Matrl Remove (this is the one you need to select)
This will remove the material from the workpiece that has been cut away by the executed ncsequence. Keep in mind though that this is a very idealized representation (i.e. no scallop heights are things like that will be taken into consideration).

This is the only way so far I know to get a real Pro/E part (in this case the workpiece) with the material that is cut away by a ncsequence removed from the part.

I hope this is what you're looking for.
