Pro E "not responding"

I am running Pro E Wildfire 3.0 on a laptop with more than enough power that it should be running smoothly. Fairly often thoughout the day, Pro E will slow down and stop responding. It usually resumes after about 30 seconds. This is occuring withlarge assemblies in ram as well as with one simple part. I'm getting tired of that hour glass. Anyone have any ideas?

Fire up Performance Monitor and have it running with appropriate counters beforehand to see what your laptop is doing during the go slow. There are a million and one things that could be happening and perfmon is so much more powerful than the quickie Task Manager.
