Printing from UNIX to Lanier HD075

I am on Pro/ 2001, attempting to print to a Lanier HD075 multifunction copier from UNIX. The copier does not recognize the input as postscript and attempts to print as text. Besides Pro/E, I have tried printing from Acrobat andget the same results. I can print postscript from Windows. Anyone have an idea what may be wrong?

Hi,

I ran a search for that printer copier and got zero results. I found the manufacturer at:

http://www.lanier.com/

and couldn't find the model.

What you basically need to know, is what printer language does it
emulate or do? Basically I'll assume it doesn't do
postscript. In that case, you probably need to install some
printer drivers. http://www.cups.org is a good place to
start. Another location to look at is
http://www.ghostscript.com. These are two different printer
driver, where cups is getting more common and easier to use.

We just replaced our Xerox Document Center with a Lanier LD145. I had the exact same problem. Turns out the Lanier did not read postscript but HPGL. PTC does not have Lanier printer drivers but thought one of the HP drivers would work. After trying most of them I gave up. We are now in the middle of converting the Lanier to a postscipt printer. The cost I heard is around $700.

Good Luck
