Notes with an Ampersand

I have a weld symbol with a reference field. I would like to have the Reference field have the text "SEE NOTES 1 & 3". However, I have found I cannot use the & (ampersand) symbol by itself. Is there an escape sequence or something that I can use to add the ampersand symbol to my note?

Yeah it's not working, but you could use the symbol "and"

if you use &&, you will get the ampersand symbol - of course, each time you modify the reference field, you will need to put in the second & again.
