New Surface Modeling Tip at E-Cognition

E-Cognition

New member
Hello All,

Thought you'd like to know that there's a new Tip set at E-Cognition.

Here's the link: Exploring Surface Modeling

This 3 part series covers some of the many tools available in the Pro/E grab bag as well as those that are somewhat less obvious.

Please let me know how you like it.

Thanks a lot Leo for such a beautiful and useful website.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Few things I observed while viewing the video was:
1.when user was rotating, zooming or panning. his mouse pointer was still at one point. Where as when I rotate or pan my model I can see my mouse pointer moving all over the screen (the way I rotate or pan). Is there any key board shortcut to do zoom, pan and rotate?

2. When the user goes to sketch mode; the view do not change (it remains in iso view) where as when I switch to sketcher mode the view changes with respect to the sketch plane and orient plane. Is there any config option to keep the view at same position when switching to sketch mode?

Thanks for the tips Leo,

1. I'm guessing a space navigator is being used. (3D connexion)

2. Config option: sketcher_starts_in_2d (Set this option to No)

Spidernate: thanks for the reply. but i did not understand first point. (space navigator)

Space navigator is a piece of hardware from 3d Connexion, basically it is a controller you use with your left hand, a "knob" with 6 degrees of freedom that you can move along XYZ axis and rotate along XYZ axis to pan, zoom and rotate your model in a fluid and continuous way. If you get the chance to test one you'll fall in love with'em!
