When exporting first select part (in case of assembly use model tree and with ctrl select all parts you want to export), and next you must select cord sys. Import that in Maya and enjoy!
You might also try using a product called PolyTrans from Okino (www.okino.com). They have a Granite converter (native Pro/E) with a Maya plug-in (native Maya). They also have a tutorial on how to move Pro/E files to Maya using IGES. You'll need their base package and some add-ons, but the time savings and the support you get is terrific.
