Mapkeys can contain extra information that's just ignored if it's not valid for the particular mode. For example if you had to do something like "setup - parameter - drawing - blahblah" for something in drawing mode and then "setup - parameter - part - blahblah" for the part mode version then you could just combine them in the mapkey like "setup - parameter - drawing - part - blahblah". In drawing mode the "part" portion wouldn't be valid so it would skip it and continue with the "blahblah" stuff. The same would be true in part mode - drawing would be ignored and it would continue.
Just record the mapkey in each mode and look for the differences and then you'll see what I mean. Just take the differences and merge them into one of them and test it.
