To,

Cadbob,

Gentleman,

You are suggestiong to share your work with people. That is great, but unfotunately

your website is asking for payment. May I know the reason?

Thanks.

Gautam

I really want to give them for free, but my hosting and bandwidth are not free for me. I have to find ways to control the monthly bandwidth, and give the models to people who really want them. Right now, you can download most small size models (under 10m).

Onanother hand, the download coins are NOT NECESSARY mony. You can upload your models for exchage. Or you can just post something on my website, I may give you download coins for you to download the models you want.

Anyway, I don't have ways to accept REAL money yet.

A rather misleading post, cadbo : (. Shame on you.

If you want to give away models for free, then give them away for free. This is not free. This is "in exchange" or "for money."

Your tactics are those of a 2-bit marketer and do not belong on these forums.

There's quite a few models available to download for free - I've downloaded about 4 models from that site already.

So, while some models do require payment, the quantity of free ones is more than is available at almost any other site.

Cadbo please accept my apologies. I took offense to the way you marketed your site initially, but after
checking it out it's obvious that you've spent a good amount of time getting it online, let alone creating & collecting the models that you've posted.

On http://www.design-engine.com/ there are a few Pro/E parts and assemblies. One of a 350z and another of Buzz Lightyear. Check em out. If anyoene wants to exchange Pro/E parts for trade or motorcycle time I have five motorcycles. Two track day road bikes and three dirt bikes. ;)

Trying to charge people for models is not really in the spirit of this forum - especially when you advertise them as 'free'...

Even more so when you can download a lot of the rar files for free but no the third part or whatever.

I suggest you go elsewhere........as this is a free forum for the swapping of ideas and learning techniques.

Also for anyone that wants all of these models, I will be uploading a torrent that contains all of them and more - I will post the link on here...so don't bother buying any of them....should have them up in a day or two.

The excuse Cadbo uses i.e. he charges as it costs him in band width is a bad one. He could upload these files onto any free file sharing site and we could have them for free.

i liked the idea of sharing them for free, proengineer is such a powerful tool and there is not enough resources on the web to learn it's advanced capabilities. PTC should do more to introduce ProE. ironically most of the material on their website that introduces proe to users of other cad systems, requires active subscription.

Personally, I don't use CAD software as a toy: I get paid to use it - and paid fairly well. What I'm frequently looking for are models of off-the-shelf components, for use in real products and production fixturesthat I am designing and will sell for Real Money. While some suppliers offer models of their products in native format (or in neutral 'dumb' formats suchas IGES and STEP), many still do not. I know the good folks at SolidWorks offer 3D ContentCentral, where users can download (and upload) models ofparts and assembliessuch as connectors, fittings etc. in a wide variety of formatsfor FREE. The library is pretty big, and getting bigger every day. It contains both an extensive collection of manufacturer's models and models made by users. Yeah, there's fun stuff too: airplanes and cars, etc.

Is there any site like this offered or supported by PTC?
