loft start/end constraints

when using start end constraints between two circular cross sections with no guide curves the start end constraints allow a lot of manipulation.... my question is this....how can I set, say on the start side,contraints for half ofthe cross section? Apply to all I would assum applies the constraint to the whole cross section....when that box is not checked how can I control individual portions of the cross section?? I don't believemovingthe arrows to another location changes theconstraint at just that point with out changing the constraints at the earlier point.....
