Imported STEP214

I have imported a STEP file and would like to modify its dimensions.

- I have verified that it is a solid and changed the units to millimeters.

- The part is to scale and works in assembly.



When ever I go into the model though and select edit there are no dimesions attached. If I go to edit definition I get a generic editor. What must I do to edit the model?? Can I edit the features in a imported file that are not generated in PRO/E?

The imported part is a dumb solid. All of the parametric features were lost when the step file was created. You will prabalby need to recreate the part if you can not get the native proe file.

I was afraid that was the case. Does anyone know a method to re-attach or teach the model what features are there?

There are software vendors who specialize in CAD conversion. You may be able to find a vendor who could do the conversion to Pro/E. I had the same problem recently and we are in the midst of re-creating the parts from the data import, one feature at a time
