How to create rib in circular parts

Asho,

I think you may have done the sketch incorrectly, all it needs to be is a single line, not a closed section

Kev

It looks like you have to create ribs one one side of an axis, likea revolved feature?

.

well even if you finally do that(prohammy way), you gonna have a problem with pattern(circular)

the best way to make a rib on circular surfaces and then pattern it is to first create a curve as an intersection of datum plane and all solid surf and then use it as references in rib sketch

more details - if needed - tomorrow while iam now on buisness trip with no Pro\e

Other way to do the pattern is to create a datum plane (an angle to one of the original planes), use this as you sketch plane and then pattern

Kev

PS Angle can be set to zero after completion if required

Hi muadib3d

I have a more complex crossection and the rib will not generate propperly. I wonder if using the curve method will help. how did you make the curve. Is that inside the rib feature?

cheers,
msmit

You can use the Intersect option to get the curve. create a plane aand use it to interesect with the part, at the place wher u require the curve
