Hem pinch, open recommendation

I have a hem on some of my sheetmetal pieces. Whole edges I wrap around... some call it a french roll... anyway I am working with zinc chromate plating over sheet steel. reading up on the zinc chromate... doesnt take well to closed hems...


the question is, what is a recommended gap for a open hem for zinc chromate plating?
