I am want to make a half section of a part, the top part showing the section view and the bottom half showing the outside view. WhenI try doing this in SW it just wants to give me the section view at the top but no bottom view.

In the property manager check (or uncheck)the box named "FLIP SAID CUT" ( I am not sure that this is the realname but I am pretty sure thatthe name contain word FLIP).
You will need to firstsketch the section cut lines. That will be two lines at 90 degrees intersecting where the half section will end.Then you will be able to create the half section using the sketched lines.
