Erasing a portion of a Cosmetic Treads

I am tring to erase a portion of a cosmetic tread located in a drawing. The cosmetic tread was generated in the model from a flat surface, blind to a given depth. It just so happens that a portion of the threadexstends into space while a portion stays in the part at the same depth. I have tried to erase the extra lines in the drawing by views, disp mode, edge disp, erase line with out luck.

Can you redefine the thread so it extends to the surface rather than blind? As far as show/erase a cosmetic in drawing mode, it is all or nothing, you can not erase individual lines.

Try trimming the cosmetic thread with a curve or another surface.
