What I want to do is have a property called Material Type in my part files that I want to change from the design tablein my assy. In my assy I have a pull down that I switch betweed MS & S/S. If I choose MS it sets a dimto 1 and S/S sets it to 2. I then create a sketch with a dim that is linked to that assy dim. I want an equation to change my property to MS ifit is 1 and S/S if it is 2. I've tried the following and it doesn't work:
"Material Type"=IIF("Material@Material>1.5,"MS","S/S")
This doesn't work. It works, however, if i use numbers instead of letters.
Simply put, I want to change the materialfromMildSteel to StainlessSteel incertain parts frommy assy and I am not aware of any way to actually change theactual material froma design table.
Ican accomplish what i want with the design table, butI must open andsave the design tablein all the partsfor it to update and this defeats the purpose.
