dueling model trees

New member
I wish there was a way to open up two model trees side by side in an assembly-like tileing worksheets in an excel window. It would be great when comparing/updating very simliar components in an assembly. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?

The only way I can see to do this is to launch Pro twice. This way you can have both assemblies running at the same time and drag the model tree from one of the assemblies into view. You may upset the IT guy for snagging two licences. If you are running it from your own machine it's no problem. You should be able to run as many sessions as you like.

Let me know if it works. :)

Here's another way to 'audit' the BOMs of two similar assemblies:

Create a drawing and add both assemblies to it. Then add an indented, recursive BOM repeat region for each assembly and place them side by side. These should look identical to the model tree for each assembly.
