Drive Partitioning Recommendations?

Hello,

Thanks in advance for entertaining this question!

I am about to setup a new system which currently has only Win XP Pro, Office 2003 and a couple other small applications. I would like to see if anyone has any recommendations for partitioning the new 100GB hard drive to work best with Pro-E and SolidWorks, swapping, graphics virtural memory, etc.

I know it is a long....subject with many different options and opinions. It would be great to hear from anyone who has a good partitioningscheme which works. Possibly Something like a list such as:

30 GB Primary partion for OS, 70 GB extended partition with 3 or more Logical partitions....etc???

Any suggestions on where or how to load the most demanding files to the most "outer rim" of the drive for fastest performance?? Not sure if this would be noticable, but what I've read, it is "theoriticaly" faster, and makes sense.

Any suggestions, or examples to any or all of the questions would be helpful. Again, I know this is a long subject so any info helps!

Also if anyone knows "the better place" to ask a question like this, I would appreciate that as well.

Thanks,
