dISPLAYING RESULTS OF ANALYSIS FEATURES

INEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS A WAY TO DISPLAY THE RESULT OF AN ALAYSIS FEATURE NEXT TO THE MODEL TREE. I HAVE CREATED AN ANALYSIS OF A DIMENSION AND WOULD LIKE FOR IT TO UPDATE WHEN I CHANGE CERTAIN CONSTRAINTS SO THAT I CAN EASILY SEE AND RECORD VALUES FOR MULTIPLE CONFIGURATIONS.

Yes. Go to the settings button above the model tree and click Tree Columns. From the type drop-down list choose Feat Params. Type in the name of the parameter you created in the Datum Analysis Feature. Click OK. You will have a new column with the result that will update upon regeneration.


And please don't type in ALL CAPITALS. It is the equivalent of shouting in a message.

Is it possible to add Analysis Feature parameter to notes? I know how to add part parameter to notes but not a feature parameter.


I wish to add the surface area of a single surface (not entire surface of model) in a note. I measured the surface area with the measure tool and then clicked the add feature button. How can I access the parameter it creates in the analysis feature,in a note?

when you create your new note... for the text add something like


&area:fid_analysis1


depends what your feature name is for the analysis... that would be the default for the first analysis


it will then change the text value from the name to the feature ID number


then go ahead and attach as you normally would
