Hi,

does anyone know what the function assembly conditions mean when defining a component interface?

edit / setup / comp interface

Thanks for an answer.

I asked PTC tech support this question. Here is their reply.

When you create a particular interface, such as aligning the axis of a cylindrical component with the axis of a hole in an assembly and mating the bottom surface of the cylinder with the bottom surface of the hole, it can apply to any hole/axis in the assembly. What the Assembly Conditions can do is specify a specific name of an axis existing in the assembly to which to align the cylinder's axis (Type: Name), a particular part in that contains the axis to which the cylinder's axis will be aligned exists (Type: Belongs to), or both.
