I know it is THEORETICALLY possible to change the pro_format_dir but has anyone actually had success doing this?

<DIV>We use this, which accesses the formats from commonspace in Intralink 3.3 or 3.4:</DIV>
<DIV>pro_format_dir ilcs://ilinksrv/Root Folder/library</DIV>
<DIV>where ilinkdatasrv is the name of our Intralink dataserver.</DIV>

what is '$PRO_DIRECTORY' for?
That is the load point fro Pro/E
I make all my paths relative like that. That way everything can be picked up & moved to a different drive, server, etc and it still all works.

We are going to PDMLink 8.0 and WF3.0 from Intralink 3.3 and WF2.0. I have the same issue with my format directory. Does anyone know where to point it with PDMLink 8.0?

We currently have with our Intralink 3.3:

ilcs://ENG_SERVER/Root Folder/Cashco_Stds/Engineering_Stds/Formats

I'll have to do the same thing with our templates, start model directory, drawing setup file, note directory, material directory, library, etc....

Thanks!!

Read the documentation carefully. With a Windchill environment, you want some files in the system and some on the network.

!Start Files (pull from a network drive, copy in the Library)

start_model_dir <server_name>\start_files_dir

template_solidpart solidpart_template.prt

! Drawing Format Dir (Library location, copy on network drive)

pro_format_dir wtpub://<server_name_definition>/Libraries/Templates/F ormats
