creating solid from imported geometry

Hello all

This is my first posting here so be gentle.

I imported an iges file with some 3D geometry. I'm trying to make a solid model from it but can't quite figure it out. In the drawing tree, all the entities are imported curves and it won't let me extrude any of them.

I looked in the help section and it said to constrain all the entities but it's not giving me that option.

any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Joey

P.S. using solidworks 2007

When we openany file of IGES, STEP, STL formats in solidworks software, in feature tree, only Imported command shows instead of part making features. If u have "FeatureWorks" tool [Tools-Add-ins], you canrecognise few commands of part file.

I don't recall what options were available in SW2007 as I'm currently using SW2009, so that is my only point of reference at this time.

When you say you "imported" 3D geometry, do you mean you opened the file? What type of file was this geometry (i.e. what was/is the file extension)? Did you run Feature Recogniton on the geometry when you imported it?

Sorry for so many question, but I think we need to know these things before we can help you. The more information that you can provide, the better we can solve the issue.
