Creating Bends

Does anyone know how to create a 180 degree bend? All I have is a
flat piece I created using "Extruded Boss/Base". It is approx. 46
mm long x 16 mm wide and I want to bend it 180 degrees about an axis
parallel with the width.

I tried sheetmetal>insert bends but I'm not sure how to specify
where to start the bend and it keeps giving me errors. I read on
the the Help menu about a sketched bend, but that option is grayed out
when I try to access it.

Thanks,

Aaron

I'm going from Pro/E experience here, so I may be 'way off base. On the other hand, even a blind squirrel will find a but now and again...

I remember that SolidWorks is mostly object-action. Try selecting the sketched bend line and then inserting the bend.

Seems too simple... that can't be it, can it?

Hi,
Beacouse you made the part with "Extruded Boss/Base" you dom't have a sheet metal part so you cant aply the specific sheet metal feature.
Try to make with "Base Flange" from "Sheet Metal" and there is a feature named "Hem" that I think that is the best way to obtain a good result

okay so i have a question ...

how can a bend with an arc instead of a straight line. everytime i sketch a bend i can't use an arc ... is there a way around that?
