Controlling the Plunge / Ramp point

New member
Good morning,

I am trying to find a way to contol the plunge / ramp position when creating volume & pocket sequences. Unfortunatly pro seems to pick at random where it wants to start, and this is causing quality issueson finishing sequences. I am using both 2001 and WF2.

Is there a way of controllling this point ? If so can someone give me a hint as it will save me alot of polishing !!

Hi
u can control the plunge point very well indeed.
create a point or an an axis exactly where u want to plunge.
then go to buildcut, approach, whole volume, then select the point u have created.
now it should plunge at ur point

Thank you Dibz..

This is fine for simple pockets, but some i create have "Islands".. As soon as it begins to mill theses islands it returns to the original plunge point, still leaving me with the same problem.

I really dont want to be adding a "strt point" for every individual slice, this would be nrly impossible.

Kindest regards,

Taz

HI
insted adding start point individual slices.
try using regions in the build cut menu . in that u can select different start point for different regions.
u need to workout for a time to find the convineant method from it.
still u face problem . plz upload a sample model i will try with and suggest u the best i could.
