Controling the file size of Large assy

I Have Problem with controlling the large assy in Solid Works. Am working with assy which is having more than 600 parts. While opening the main assy my system will take very long time.


Is there any way of doing simplified representation, I know about simplified representation in PROE not in Solid Works.


Please Help me on this, Bcoz am facing delay with my delivery date.

600 parts sounds pretty small. What computer and SWversion are you using?

Am using SOLID WORKS-2007


System configuration is


Intel core 2 Duo CPU


E4500 @ 2.2GHz , 3.25 GB of RAM.





I think system configuration is good. But still i am getting problem for working in assemblies. Please guide me on this.

Hey raghu, while opening the assy, just check the lightweight tab in the open dialogue box..
