Configuration tables help.

Borisw37

New member
I've been playing around with configuration tables and can
see how they can be very useful.
For test purposes I'm trying to make a simple part, a 2x4,
the length of which I can change to any value as I add it
to the assembly. I've only been able to create
configurations with pre-defined lengths in the part file
and then select among them once the part is added to the
assembly.
Any recommendations ?

Boris,

Your post does not express a question or a problem, it merely describes what are you doing, so what exactly are you looking for?

Briefly, it sounds like you are using configurations when you want a design table. To create a design table - from within your baseline 2X4 model, click insert>table>design table. Highlight the length dimension (D1@extrude1 for example), and viola, you have a table. List a bunch of design configurations and enter values in for the length, like this:

And your configurations tab should show this:

May favorite part about this, is that the excel table casn be intelligent. For example, my D1 call value is the configuration name * 12. You can utilize all of excel's functions, which can be very handy, like using some of the trig stuff.

Hope this helps,
