Changing Planes/Machine Problems

Hi all,

We use ProE as our main CAD sistem for some years. Now we are starting using ProE/NC also as our CAM sistem

(previous we was using PowerMill & Mastercam).

We are experimenting some dificulties, at this moment we are trying to make some engravings (see attached file), and the problem here is that the program swicth between G17 to G19 (on the marked areas). That is a good idea to make the program smaller, but my machines doesn't accept that (we've some Fadal and some Daewoo machines).

We draw the engravings as "GROOVE" (CAD)and we are trying to do this as an "ENGRAVING" (CAM).

Any tips?

Is this a ProE/NC, a PostProcess or a machine problem/limitation?

Any sugestion to solve this problem?

By the way: any good and non expensive programer to build us post processors? the main problem, also with our machines (and I believe that is a machine problem) is that when a G00 command is send to the machine it doesn't make a single line (between the start and end points) but to lines and that must be corrected in the post processor (I solve the problem, by replace by hand, all the G00 to G01 F400, but that is not the optimal process)

I stay waiting for your comments

Try custom trajectory and sketch it from the side view or select curve. If you still get a G19 then I think it may be something with your post processor or some type of setting. When I do this with trajectory I get all single point program with no G18's or G19's. I have never tried the engraving option<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Luis,

This is a post processor issue. Also, Pro/NC has a small learning curve. Give me a call and I can work thru this G18/G19 problem using engraving.

Try this in G-post. In the Motion section section, select "1" for positioning xy znd z. Rapid address is set to "F". Set the Positioning velocity to 400.
