I don't understand exactly what you mean with holes.
If you mean holes within the surface itself can't you do this then by making a copy of this surface with the option fill holes.
If you mean gaps between surfaces you can try to solve this using Import Data Doctor module of Pro/E.

<DIV>Hi</DIV>

<DIV>That worked. Copy surface, paste, and then toggle option to files holes.</DIV>

Hi

I would like to merge the surfaces togetherto make anew part without the holesafter I copy and paste.

How do I do that?

I then would export a new step or parasolid file

How do I do that?

Thank You

There are several ways to do this depending on what you want to achieve.
You could try e.g. to create a new part and then use Copy Geometry

Or you can make a copy of these surfaces (without the holes) and then export only these surfaces to IGES and import them again.

There are several other options in between the two above.

Best regards,

John

just set ur selection filter to geometry or quilt in case of surfaces. select those surface then copy and paste, in paste dashboard go to options and chose fill holes then select the surface again and you will get a new surface without any holes.

<DIV>Hi</DIV>

<DIV>I understand the iges export that works good. </DIV>

<DIV>Could you give me a little better idea for menu picks? </DIV>

Create a new part.
Then go to
Insert -> Copy Geometry
or
Insert -> Inheritance

The main difference between the two is how the associativy behaves.
Lets say you use Copy Geometry
You can now open the model where you want to copy the surfaces from (using the dashboard (WF3) or the menu on the righthandside (WF2).
Choose as location "default".
Now select the menu option (WF2) "Surface References define" and select the surfaces you want to copy.
Change "depency" to "independent".

John

<DIV>Hi</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>I am working in WF3. In order to do Insert, Shared Data, Copy Geometry.</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>I had to go Insert, Shared Data, Publish Geometry.</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Is this right or will something come back at me later I do not expect?</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Thank You</DIV>

It is not necessary to do a publish geometry.
This is only necessary if you want to make the selection of certain surfaces you often need a bit more easier.

If you can only select "Published Geometry" you have probably forgetten to disable the setting "Published Geometry Only".
This is in the dashboard the button with a cube and three black arrows pointing away from the cube, it is on the righthandside of the one you use to specify the position.

Best regards,

John
