Aligning an Imported Sketch

When you make a sketch that you plan to reuse add a horizontal and vertical center line to the sketch first. Dimension sketch features to the center lines and not to datum planes or coordinate system. When you import the sketch simply dimension or constrain the center lines and the rest will follow.
 
I was doing this, however as soon as I constrained one of the centerlines all the dimensions in the sketch changed (usually randomly). I solved the problem with making sure all the dimensions are locked before I constrain the centerlines. I don

Align all of your imported sketches with there central handle to a samespecific location usually the center of two planes or C.S.
