3 gb switch on Vista

Does anyone know if the 3 gb switch with Userva=2900 works on Vista? It seems to me just by looking at the task manager that Vista requires more memory.

mgnt8,

I was interested in the 3GB switch in Windows XP Win32. It looks like you know that and you want to know how to do that in VISTA.

Can you please share that with me.

Thanks

I guess I'm going to have to fiddle around with it to get the best setting. From MSoft website:

To enable the 3GB switchon Windows Vista

vista has what advantages again?

If I was implementing it enterprise wide, I'd probably agree with you, but I'm not. Personal preference - better interface, better stability, handles all my files like images better. I spend enough of my life staring at this thing that I may as well get the best experience out of it that I can. All the bells & whistles are a resource hog so you just need to know how to configure it properly, turn off all the extras. Heck, I'm just about at XP performance levels except I actually like the sidebar crap so I'm leaving it. Remember Dell doesn't tell you how much RAM you really need to run Vista, their main priority is selling to soccer moms at the lowest price point. This isthe road to the future, so why turn back just because there's too many programs running at startup. Justslip ina couple more gb's and enjoy the ride.
