Cylindrical compression spring with different diameters of inactive coils

Hey Guys,

There is a challenge that I'm currently dealing with.
I'd like to create a spring with cylindrical body and some amount of active coils there and with a specific diameter.
Then I need to have inactive closed coils with different diameter but the same for both ends.
Pitch should vary in transition zone between active and inactive coils.

What would be the recommended way to create such a spring in CREO 2.0?
Any hints?

Woul appreciate it!
Regards,
Peter

Helical sweep can do all those things. This isn't exactly what you asked for but close enough to give you the idea. You need two cuts to get the ground ends if you want them. Everything else is one helical sweep.
