Modeling from IGES to solid

Provide more information.

What system generated the IGES file?

What version of NX?

IGES files can be created as solids, which is the preferred method. If all you get is surfaces, then you need to solidify the surfcaes into a solid.

IGES is a surfaceformat not solid. Any conversion from a closed surface to solid is done within the modeling system not within the IGES format. If a solid model is saved out to IGES format the next system to opened with that file will be dealing with a surface format. Some modeling software lets you set an option that will automatically create a solid from a closed surface import, but that has nothing to do with the IGES format.

I believe the latest revision of IGES is 5.3 -
