what settings or file is this

Hello,

I just recently upgraded my weak desktop with a new video
card and spent a few hours browsing around a folder of
cad files to test the upgrade. I encountered a cool and
annoying assembly. The assembly shows no items in the
Featuremanager design tree, and the command manager icons
are all grey except for the Bill of materials icon.
Also, when moving the cursor over the modela circle
window around the cursor reveals the parts behind like
superman looking through walls. It's cool and annoying at
the same time.

I searched through the help files... for some reason I
feel the help feature in past versions was better... but
wasted a few hours because I lacked the key words or
phrases to use in the search. Same goes for google.

I would like to learn more about this type of
file/features. Like, how to turn off/on the "see through
cursor", and how to make such a file. It seem to load
faster. And Is this (the greyed out commandmanager) some
sort of protection feature? Can this be turned off/on?
Etc.

Does anyone know what I am describing? If so, please help
by explaining or suggesting terms to use for a google
search. Of course, a brief explanation would be best

This is referred to as using SpeedPaks. It would be much easier for you to look at help in SolidWorks than to explain the use here.
