Varying profile sweep not working

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help. I am trying to sweep a
circle along a shrinking path using two composite guide
curves. I have done this before on a similar project but
this one does not want to work

As it sits, even if the sweep were performing in a
predictable manner, the sweep will be self intersecting.
Is it even possible to get a self intersecting feature to
work? If not how do you achieve the desired result (in
this case, the small end of the sweep to meet the side of
the cylinder that will be formed from the large end.

Before sweep operation:

Failed sweep operation:

This is similar to the effect I am after, but i need it
to intersect to close the loop:

I'm reasonably competent on the program but I usually
model things in a bit of an unorthodox style (probably
incorrect) to get the desired result.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Cheers.

Hey, this is possible ok, you just need some adjustment.

OK, the second image looks like the swept profile doesn't reduce in size as it sweeps along so I'm guessing you don't have pierce constraints between the profile and the path. Try this and then sweep it.
