Convert entities doesn’t work

Karol

New member
I drew a ball by revolving an arc, as on the drawing
attached. I positioned a plane at an angle that slices the
ball.
I want to project the contour of the ball on the plane-
where the plane cuts the ball. I used the Convert entities
command with the intersection curve option. I selected the
ball, approved but nothing happened.

Don't use convert entities for this, use the intersect curve option by picking the plane and the surface of the sphere.

If the ball was created with a revolve sketch, set that
sketch to be visible. Start your new sketch. Convert the
entites from the revolve sketch to your new sketch. You'll
need to mirror the convert entity, but all will retain
association with the ball's diameter via the revolve
sketch.

Matt,

That won't work in this case as the plane that the aketch is on is at an angle to the plane that he wants the contour of the plane. I also have to say I'm not a fan of the mirror command in sketch, I've always found it to be problematic.
