After I started using "pack and go" many of existing files change their icon to a large yellow block (consists of a lager one and a smaller one on top) instead of the image of the part, and I can not open them anymore. I keep loosing files. Anybody can help?
Are you SURE you can't open the file through Solidworks? Usually, the icons will rebuild themselves once the files are opened and saved again. This happens to me all of the time. I've never had the problem of the files losing their extension-association though.
I would try launching Solidworks and open the file(s) from there, then save them again. JAT
