I'm requesting a new workstation and I'd like to hear back from those of you who are running SW2008 and/or SW2009.

1. Have you run on both a x32 and an x64 box ? comments on both.

2. XP Pro or Vista OS ? comments on both.

3. System mfg and configuration ?

4. Video mfg ?

Looking forward to your comments.

I am currently on SW2008 w/a duo 3.2g 3gRam x32 nvidia 3450, XP pro.

This is the set up I have and I am completely satisfied with it. I am using Solidwoks 2009 SP2.0.
Dell Precision Workstation T7400-64bit
Dual Quad Core Intel Xeon Processor E5405 (2.00GHz,2X6M L2,1333)
16GB, DDR2 SDRAM FBD Memory, 667MHz
Quadro FX 4600 Graphics Card
Windows Vista Business 64 Edition

Hope this helps.

I have used sw2009 in winxp 32 and 64, and I have to
tell that the 64 version goes better, but I get
(sometimes) strange errors.

if you look on the back of the box be very careful I have 64 vista home premium and I get loads of visual errors so I had to roll back to xp pro which I had a spare copy of. 2008 says vista business or ultimate or xp pro so make sure that you have the right version.

As for 32 or 64 I would highly recomend 64 for vista but 32 for xp.
