BOM balloons don’t show in exploded view

I'm making a report of an assembly for a class project. I've created the repeat region table, and it has the correct parts listed. When I try to create the BOM balloons I get the message that the exploded view is an invalid view for BOM balloons. What does this mean? How do I get BOM balloons on my exploded assembly view?

Is the repeat regin table from the master view and the view itself a simplified representation? Than that's the reason, why it doesn't work.

Thanks for the tip Don. How do I check master vs. simplified representation? is that under View properties?

Yes, you've to choos View > Properties > View States.
Here you can find out, which Simplified Representation is used for the view.
