Drawing Symbols

Hello,


I am looking for the difference of Drawing symbol "PL" on two occasions.please find the below two sketches.

Sketch 1 is for a location reference on a fabrication part, and sketch 2 is dimensional reference on a sheet metal part.


Appreciate if somebody can differentiate themeaning of the symbol at two occasiions?
