extract and flatten surface from model

Can someone post the process to extract a surface from acurrent model and flatten it ?

take for example the light green surface that seams selected.

First pick the surface... probably thru top down design.

Once the surface is in a new part... place a PNT on the surface then use 'insert' 'advanced' 'flaten surface'.

works great on ruled surfaes.... Should work on both compound or complex surfaces.
