HELP PLEASE (HYDRAULIC CYLINDER)

Hi

I am just trying to model a hydraulic cylinder where the spear strokes in and out using a motor etc. The problem i have is that i want the distance that the spear moves to be determined by a distance (so if i change the length of the cylinder the stroke changes accordingly) i have tried using a slot follower which seems to be along the right track but i am having trouble driving the slot follower. Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

try useing a slider conection to assemble your componets, then create 2 datum points on the axis of the fixed commponet (make sure they reference the sides of the cylinder so they will "grow" and "shrink" with the size of your componet. then create a slot conection and use those 2 points as "start" and "end".

hope it helps
