I am not SW user, but I find such geometry as surboard is possible to you - even as beginner user - to make in SW.
Problems you can and likely would encounter are related to nose part, because it is typical 3 sided surface. Check this forum regarding this topic.
Main body should be done as Sweep/Loft.
Same regarding surfboard fin.
Check my page regarding surfacing tuts. They are related to Pro/E, butthe fact software difference means nothing in this particular situation because it all depend on approach you follow, and the tools are almost similar, only names differ
