can anyone please tell me what is cloning of assemblies in unigraphics?

please help.

Thanks,

Hi,

Cloning is nothing but making a copy of an assemblyand its part filesbut maitaining all the mating conditions between them.

For example if your original assembly(assy1.prt) is having a1.prt and b1.prt files. If you copy using windows explorer to another folder and rename it to assy2.prt, a2.prt and b2.prt. now if you open the assy2.prt NX will say the parts are missing.

Now use the clone assembly option and use the naming rule suffix as "2". Then if you open assy2.prt then you can see a2.prt and b2.prt files opened along with the mating conditions.

I hope i am clear enough for your next interview.
