doesn’t connect to port host?

After installing the license file then going to install the program, I get an error message stating (along the lines of) "can't connect to licence host" aka can't connect to my computer name. I have verified that it is correct and even tried changing it and installing over again, i get the same error. What am I doing wrong?

Is the FlexNet service running on the license server?

It should be, the license file get's installed properly, but when the installation of the program begins (the screen stating 27000@host) when you click next i get the "cant connect error"

You should have a lmgrd process and a uglmd process running on the server.
