How to creat a Cross section

Would someone please tell me how to creat a cross section view on an assembly with NX2. Also when I go into the assembly navigator, for some reason I can't locate any of the components. There is no + or - on the Navigator, instead it shows up as "....". Would someone please tell me what this means.
