assy location problem

Sometimes, when I open an assenbly individual parts will be located properly and when I open up the individual part it will be located at 0-0-0. Can anyone tell me the reason for this.

Well, if you started with the component first, you most likely started at 0,0,0. There is nothing wrong with this, in fact, that's how most people do things. It doesn't matter how the individual component sits in space because in the assembly you mate it to other components. There are companies that use the WCS in component level part design that is in the same location from the assembly. In other words, you are creating parts in an assembly so that you don't have to mate.
